I LOVE my boys! Today I was watching Shane teach Nolan how to change the oil and it was one of the sweetest things I've seen them do together. I can see in Nolan's eyes that his Daddy is his hero, and is truly one of Shane's biggest fans. What's not to love about Shane ;) I think that not only Nolan, but all of my children are so lucky to have a Dad who has Christ at the center of his heart. Nolan has a wonderful role model and will be learning how to become a warrior for Christ, a man of God. Back to what I was saying...the two of them are so similar by nature, and it melts my heart when I watch them together. I love that Nolan's favorite things to dress in are a plain white t-shirt, and jeans or shorts, just like Daddy. If you looked in both of their closets you would see that their wardrobes consist mostly of those things. He is on Shane's schedule(not one of my favorite things, Shane is up so early,) and if for some reason Shane has left before Nolan wakes, it's a bad start to the morning. He's got to have his milk, a piece of toast or cliff bar, and a snuggle with Dad before Shane leaves for work. He absolutely loves his Dad! Don't get me wrong, JP is a mamas boy too, he's pretty equal. And as much as he's all boy(whatever that really means?) He has a tender side. He occasionally plays with a baby doll or two with his big sis, and if he sees that Liv & I are painting our toenails, he wants his painted too(and yep, I do it for him.) Nolan and Liv made up a song and have been singing it all week. They put their arms around each other and say "we love our bread, we love our butter, but most of all, we love each other." At the end the kiss each other. I know it sounds silly, and it is, but it's sweet in my eyes, and to my ears.
There are things Nolan will talk about doing with his Dad when he gets older or like he says when I'm "BIGGA." Like grind coffee for the coffee maker and drink it with Dad in the mornings, mow the lawn, use the drill, and drive Dad's truck, and drive us around~haha...all the things big dudes get to do =) If we're going somewhere special, Nolan will ask Shane to spray some cologne on his little neck. He is so eager to grow up and be a big boy, yet as with all of my kiddos, I sometimes wish I could just keep them little and tuck them away into my pocket. Anyhow, I got some cute pictures of them mowing the law together(a couple different times.) I tried to be stealthy so I wouldn't spoil the moment. I really am so lucky to have a husband who loves his kids so fiercely, the way I do, and they are so blessed to have a Dad who gives them 100%!
